Storing your Cajeta
Once is opened we recommend to store your OMG Cajeta in the fridge. If crystallization takes place, just like honey, is due to the variation in temperature just warm it up as need it. Your Cajeta will last at least a year.

What is Cajeta?
Cajeta [ka-heh-tah] is a goat’s milk caramel spread with centuries of tradition. Its applications are truly endless! Enjoyed the same on toast, as it is in baking, or drizzled over ice cream or cheesecake….whatever your heart desires!
Cajeta is a reduction of goat's milk over a very long cooking process. What this means is that as oppose to conventional caramel, sugar is not our main ingredient and we do not use butter or whipping cream. We caramelize milk not sugar!
As a result of its process and the goat's milk this delicious treat has a unique flavor quite different to other caramels or the Argentinian Dulce de Leche (made with cow's milk). Cajeta is traditionally made in Central Mexico, particularly in the state of Guanajuato.
The originally recipe comes from Spain where it was called "burnt milk", and it has been made with cow's milk. In Central Mexico the significant production of goat's milk was crucial to the change of the original recipe. Although through time different packaging methods were developed to preserve the spread, originally was stored in wooden boxes called cajas which gives it its current name Cajeta.
